Certus provides a comprehensive range of specialist testing equipment for concrete, helping ensure that what’s specified is achieved in-situ. A few examples are given below.
For SFRC, we use the EyeD device to measure fibre distribution in real time as concrete is discharged from the truck. This assesses the full load of concrete and is both far more accurate and far less labour intensive than older wash-out methods, such as those referenced in TR34. Newer design rules, including AS 3600, recognise chute-based testing as a practical option for fibre assessment.

Abrasion testing
Abrasion resistance testing - checking the surface durability of new and older slabs.

Slip and friction
Pendulum testing is commonly used in New Zealand to assess slip resistance for Building Code and AS/NZS 4586 compliance.
Tribometers are widely used internationally to assess slip resistance and surface friction, particularly for comparative evaluation and monitoring of changes over time, and are well suited to operational environments such as warehouse slabs and floors trafficked by robots or AMRs. -

Pull out testing
In-service pull-out testing of anchors, bolts, reinforcing. Capable of testing up to 145kN in line with BS 8539 and AEFAC-TN05.
