Floor Flatness & Levelness Surveying

We survey both on-grade and suspended slabs, measuring floor flatness & levelness (FF/FL) along with Free Movement (FM) and Defined Movement (DM) classifications. Our work references recognised standards and guidelines including CNZ Technical Specification 01:2021, TR34, ASTM E1155, EN 15620 and more.

To verify tolerances for warehouses, G2P, ASRS, and high-bay systems. We can survey and design to FEM requirements, including slab rotation limits critical for automation and high-bay racking.

To get reliable, high-resolution results, we use precise digital levels, the Axiom Pro (by Somero Matson), and the latest scanning technology. These tools help us map slab profiles in detail and confirm that tolerances meet the needs of modern facilities.

Free Movement (FM)

Free Movement (FM) survey and reporting.

We also deliver grind reports for FM and DM analysis, and we offer an independent and pragmatic approach. Grinding is always treated as a last resort. Our advice looks at the best way forward — whether that’s localised adjustments, operational workarounds, or, if unavoidable, targeted grinding.

Because we work independently, everyone — clients, contractors, and owners — can trust that the results are accurate and unbiased.

Defined Movement (DM)

Defined Movement (DM) surveying and reporting with grind reports issued in real time on site. We use the most advanced surveying equipment available, the Axiom Pro from Somero Matson.

High Bay Racking - FEM

Certus designs and surveys raft slabs used to support high-bay racking and clad-rack structures. These facilities impose significant demands on the slab, as primary structural loads can be transferred directly through the raft.

Surface regularity requirements are achieved by meeting the flatness, levelness, slab rotation, and deflection criteria specified in FEM 9.831, 9.832, and 9.841.

G2P, ASRS

Certus delivers high-accuracy surveying for G2P and ASRS environments, capturing the flatness, levelness, and slab rotation data these systems demand. Using advanced measurement equipment, we verify floor performance against FEM, DIN, and project-specific criteria to de-risk commissioning and protect long-term operational speed.

From racking alignment checks to full-slab performance mapping, our surveys give automation and robotics teams the certainty they need to run at full capacity
